J. Nicholas Haynes, Esq.

J. Nicholas Haynes is an Associate Attorney in the Union, Missouri office of Stange Law Firm. He works with individuals navigating significant life changes and provides steady guidance supported by strong legal research and courtroom preparation. Nick earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri School of Law, where he served as Lead Articles Editor for the Journal of Dispute Resolution and was a Moot Court finalist and Board of Advocates Negotiation Semifinalist. His coursework included Trial Practice, Appellate Advocacy, and Pre-Trial Litigation and Discovery. During law school, he also authored a published note addressing arbitration clauses and statutory workplace claims. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a business minor from the University of Missouri–Columbia.

Nick previously worked as a Junior Associate Attorney at Stange Law Firm, where he drafted pleadings, motions, and proposed orders in dissolution and domestic matters. He managed active case files, conducted research on Missouri law, communicated directly with clients regarding case status and expectations, and assisted with hearings and court appearances. He later gained additional litigation experience handling research, statutory interpretation, investigative analysis, and complex civil matters. Earlier in his career, Nick served in legal extern roles with the Missouri Attorney General’s Office and the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor (DHS), where he drafted motions and memoranda and supported courtroom and administrative proceedings. He also served as Chief of Staff to a Missouri State Senator, conducting statutory analysis, drafting legislative language, and managing high-volume communications involving agencies and constituents.

Nick brings a well-rounded background that combines courtroom litigation, legislative insight, and analytical precision. He understands that legal matters can carry lasting consequences and is committed to helping clients make informed decisions about their future.
