Associate Attorney

Ikenna Uzoegwu is an Associate Attorney dedicated to helping individuals navigate complex legal challenges with clarity and confidence. He understands that facing legal issues can feel overwhelming, and he works to provide steady guidance, clear communication, and practical solutions tailored to each client’s situation. His background in compliance, investigations, and litigation support gives him a strong foundation for approaching cases with attention to detail and a focus on protecting his clients’ interests.

Ikenna earned his Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. During law school, he was actively involved in Moot Court and Trial Advocacy, strengthening his courtroom and litigation skills. He was also a member of Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity. He received his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Political Science, from the University of Houston–Downtown. While there, he served on the NAACP Executive Board as Publicity Chair, was a member of the Criminal Justice Contingency Council, participated in the Earl Carl Institute for Legal & Social Policy, and became a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity inc.

Before and during law school, Ikenna built a professional background centered on investigation, compliance, and legal research. He served as a Research Assistant at Southern University Law Center, where he supported faculty with in-depth legal research, citation review, and editing of scholarly work for publication. He also interned with the East Baton Rouge Public Defender’s Office, assisting attorneys with legal research, drafting memoranda, organizing case materials, and preparing for hearings and trials. His contributions supported case preparation and helped ensure critical deadlines and procedural requirements were met.

In addition to his legal roles, Ikenna has significant experience in compliance and risk management. As a Compliance Manager for a medical transportation company, he has overseen regulatory adherence, employee training, and operational standards to help ensure safe, lawful, and ethical business practices. Earlier in his career, he worked in corporate and retail loss prevention, conducting investigations, collaborating with law enforcement, and helping organizations reduce risk and financial loss. This combination of legal and compliance experience allows him to approach matters with a thorough, detail-oriented mindset focused on accountability and results.
